KP Government Rolls Out Livestock Measures in Flood-Hit Malakand
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has launched urgent relief measures to support livestock farmers in Malakand Division following devastating floods, as announced on August 24, 2025.
The initiative aims to address the severe losses faced by rural communities in Swat and Buner.
Director of stock KP, Aftab Ahmed, confirmed that a survey of livestock losses is underway, with compensation packages being prepared.
“We are committed to helping farmers rebuild their livelihoods,” he said, per a KP government statement.
The measures include fodder supplies and veterinary aid for surviving animals.
The floods, which claimed over 427 lives, decimated livestock critical to the region’s economy.
The government’s relief plan also integrates with the Rs. 5 billion Food Stamp Scheme for affected families.
