Pakistan, UAE Plan High-Level Trade Summit Post-Ambassador’s Farewell

Islamabad, August 25, 2025, 11:50 PM PKT – Pakistan, UAE Plan High-Level Trade Summit Post-Ambassador’s Farewell

Following the farewell call by outgoing UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan and the UAE have agreed to hold a high-level trade summit in Abu Dhabi by early 2026, announced on August 25, 2025.

The summit aims to deepen economic ties, building on recent diplomatic milestones.

A Prime Minister’s Office statement highlighted Al-Zaabi’s nine-year tenure, which strengthened bilateral relations, including visa abolition for diplomatic passports.

“The UAE is a brotherly partner, and this summit will boost trade,” Sharif told NEN, noting recent visits by UAE leaders like Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The summit will focus on IT, textiles, and energy investments, targeting a 25% trade increase by 2028.

The agreement follows Al-Zaabi’s meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, where he was praised for fostering fraternal bonds,

Pakistan anticipates a visit from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to finalize trade deals.

“Our ties are rooted in trust,” said Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch. Stay updated at nenagency.com.
