Punjab drug raids
Lahore, August 21, 2025, 09:04 AM PKT – Punjab Police arrested 147 drug dealers during 230 raids across the province in the last 24 hours. The operation, directed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar, aims to eradicate drug trafficking.
Police seized 223 kg of cannabis, 13 kg of crystal meth, 25 kg of opium, 2 kg of heroin, and 1,240 liters of liquor from the suspects. The IGP has ordered intensified efforts, especially near educational institutions, to dismantle drug supply chains.
Dr. Usman emphasized strict legal action against all involved, signaling a robust crackdown on the drug trade. Further investigations are underway.
