Lahore, August 21, 2025, 09:04 AM PKT – Punjab Police have carried out a massive crackdown, arresting 147 drug dealers in 230 raids conducted across the province within the last 24 hours.
This operation, led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar, aims to break down drug trafficking networks in Punjab.
Major Narcotics Seizures Across Punjab
During these raids, authorities made significant narcotics and illegal substance seizures:
- 223 kilograms of cannabis
- 13 kilograms of crystal meth
- 25 kilograms of opium
- 2 kilograms of heroin
- 1,240 liters of liquor
This operation is one of the most substantial drug busts in recent months in Pakistan’s most populous province.
Enhanced Enforcement Near Educational Institutions
Enforcement has been intensified near schools and colleges to disrupt supply chains that target vulnerable youth. IGP Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the importance of strict legal actions against traffickers, reinforcing Punjab Police’s commitment to eradicating the drug trade.
