Federal ministers, following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s August 17 directive, reported significant relief progress in flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab on August 26, 2025.

Over 85,000 people received aid in 156 relief camps across Shangla, Buner, and Bahawalnagar, with additional supplies dispatched to mitigate ongoing monsoon impacts.

Federal Minister Amir Muqam, overseeing operations in Shangla, told NEN,

“We’ve distributed 12,000 ration packs and 8,000 tents.

” Ministers Sardar Yousaf and Mubarak Zeb reported restored roads in Mansehra and Bajaur, aiding relief delivery.

The NDMA, under Sharif’s guidance, has deployed 320 trucks carrying food and medicines, with damages estimated at Rs. 200 million.

The ministers’ visits, extended to August 30, focus on ensuring power and road restoration, with 45 of 52 energy feeders now operational.

Punjab’s PDMA reported 18 villages still inundated, urging continued evacuations .

Sharif will review progress in a virtual meeting today.
