National Assembly Member Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah was discharged from a Karachi hospital on August 26, 2025, following a swift recovery, allowing him to resume his duties as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the National Assembly Secretariat announced.
The update follows Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s well-wishes for Shah’s health.
Shah, a senior PPP leader, thanked supporters, stating,
“I’m ready to serve again,” in a message shared with NEN.
His recovery was confirmed after meetings with NA Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, who briefed him on legislative priorities .
Shah’s leadership in the PAC, noted for recovering billions, will focus on upcoming audits.
The NA Secretariat praised Shah’s resilience, with Sadiq lauding his contributions to parliamentary democracy.
Shah plans to convene a PAC meeting in Islamabad next week to review financial oversight reports.
“His return strengthens our work,” said a PPP spokesperson.
