Islamabad, August 30, 2025, 12:10 AM PKT – HR Ministry Forms Task Force to Probe Gujrat Rape Case

The Ministry of Human Rights established a special task force on August 29, 2025, to investigate the gang rape incident in Gujrat, following Federal Minister Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar’s condemnation of the crime. The task force aims to ensure swift justice for the victim and address systemic issues.

Tarar told NEN,

“We will leave no stone unturned to punish the perpetrators.

” The task force, led by a senior ministry official, will coordinate with Punjab Police, which arrested two suspects on August 28, and review evidence within 10 days.

The ministry also plans awareness campaigns on women’s safety.

Local activists in Gujrat welcomed the move, urging stricter laws.

The ministry allocated Rs. 2 million for victim support and legal aid.

“Justice must prevail,” said an activist.
