PESHAWAR — The Awami National Party (ANP) has firmly rejected the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, accusing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of orchestrating a scenario primed to lead the province into economic, educational, and administrative turmoil.
In a statement released from Bacha Khan Markaz, ANP Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain criticized the fiscal agenda put forward by the PTI. He claimed the budget was nothing more than an attempt to purchase the loyalty of lawmakers through hollow project promises.
The ANP’s rejection underscores its dissatisfaction with the current provincial administration’s strategies, warning that the repercussions could be detrimental to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s future development and governance.
