The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), alongside Greenstar Social Marketing Pakistan, has initiated a pilot program for 500 women entrepreneurs in Punjab and Sindh. Launched on August 26, 2025, this initiative aims to enhance women’s empowerment nationwide through a new Memorandum of Understanding.
Participants will gain essential business skills and access seed capital under the federal Benazir Hunarmand Programme to foster sustainable enterprises.

BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid told NEN, “This pilot will transform lives by fostering financial independence.” This federal effort seeks to guide beneficiaries toward economic self-sufficiency.
Greenstar CEO Dr. S.A. Rab emphasized the partnership’s role, stating, “This is a step toward self-reliance.” The agreement combines both organizations’ capabilities to bolster women’s economic empowerment.
Training and Support Framework
The pilot provides extensive training in health sector ventures, leveraging Greenstar’s established community networks across Pakistan. Participants benefit from various support mechanisms throughout their entrepreneurial journey.
