Satellite internet is set to revolutionize sectors such as agriculture and transportation. This includes remote monitoring, precision farming, and real-time logistics tracking.
Belt and Road Initiative and Regional Connectivity
These policies align with China’s Belt and Road Initiative to enhance connectivity in Southeast Asia and Africa. They aim to bolster digital infrastructure in partner nations. By 2026, China Telecom’s Tiantong-1 system will serve users in Hong Kong and Macao. This illustrates China’s commitment to regional integration through advanced telecommunications.
“This is a digital leap forward,” noted a ministry spokesperson, underscoring the transformative potential of the satellite internet initiative.
