During a site visit, Khan told NEN, “We’re ensuring timely delivery to make Gol Bagh a family-friendly hub.” This project aligns with provincial priorities to improve urban infrastructure in Pakistan.
Provincial Investment in Urban Development
The project is part of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s urban development vision, currently 80% complete. It is a comprehensive plan to modernize and enhance community facilities.
Provincial authorities have allocated Rs. 30 million to upgrade the park for local families. Transforming Multan Gol Bagh Park signifies substantial investment in Punjab’s recreational infrastructure.

The upgraded park includes several new features:
- New internal and external gates
- A modern fountain installation
- A dedicated walking track
- Enhanced landscaping with seating areas
- Improved lighting systems
- Children’s play areas
- Efficient waste management systems
Green Initiative Adds Native Trees
The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) planted 500 native trees as part of the project. This green initiative aims to enhance environmental quality in Gulgasht Colony, near the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
The added greenery improves air quality and provides year-round shade, making visits pleasant during hot summer months.
Community Feedback and Project Completion
Local residents appreciate the initiative, with some requesting additional amenities like a jogging path. Commissioner Khan has instructed the PHA to maintain quality and expedite any remaining work.
The upgraded Multan Gol Bagh Park is expected to be fully completed by mid-September 2025, becoming a major recreational hub for families citywide.
