ISLAMABAD — Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced on Wednesday that the government aims to extend fibre-to-the-home coverage to 10 million households in the coming years. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance access to reliable internet services across the country.
The government’s plan focuses on ensuring that a larger segment of the population can benefit from high-speed internet, which is increasingly essential for education, business, and daily activities. The expansion is part of a broader strategy to improve digital infrastructure nationwide.
Minister Khawaja emphasized the commitment to bridging the digital divide and providing equitable internet access throughout Pakistan. This move is anticipated to stimulate economic growth and facilitate digital inclusion.
