ISLAMABAD — The federal government has allocated Rs 10,902.5 million in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2026-27 to fund 19 ongoing and 12 new projects in the Defence Division. The detailed PSDP budgetary document released on Friday outlines specific allocations for major schemes.
For ongoing projects, Rs 2,550 million has been designated for the New Gwadar International Airport, Rs 1,000 million for modernizing Hydromet Services of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, and Rs 1,152.5 million for the NIHD Center of Excellence for Preventive Cardiovascular Research. Additional allocations include Rs 1,053.8 million for Quantum Valley Pakistan (Phase-1), Rs 1,000 million for expanding the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology, and Rs 500 million for constructing a Rain Water Harvesting Dam at Islamabad International Airport.
Regarding new initiatives, Rs 500 million has been earmarked for establishing a National Defence University FCS Campus at the Defence Complex Islamabad, with Rs 200 million allocated for enhancing IT infrastructure at the Faculty of Security Studies at the NDU. The budget also includes Rs 180.202 million for a new FG Public School at the Defence Complex, and Rs 100 million for feasibility and design studies for an airport in Mirpur (AJK).
In addition to these, the government has specified Rs 979.84 million for two ongoing Defence Production Division schemes. This comprises Rs 820.939 million for infrastructure upgrades at KS&W and Rs 158.901 million for establishing a Project Management Cell for developing a shipyard at Gwadar.
