LAHORE — Two robbers were captured in an injured state after separate police encounters in Iqbal Town, Lahore, on Saturday.
Doongi Ground Police Encounter
The first encounter occurred near Doongi Ground in the Huma Block area of Iqbal Town. Upon law enforcement’s arrival, the suspects opened fire, prompting a swift retaliatory action by the police.
Abdul Rasheed, a suspect with over 27 criminal incidents on record, was wounded and apprehended. His accomplice, Asif, managed to escape, and authorities are actively pursuing him.
Details of the Second Encounter
In a separate incident, suspect Haider Ali was injured during police retaliation. Despite Ali’s injury, three of his accomplices escaped the scene.
Both operations were launched based on intelligence reports that confirmed the robbers’ presence in these targeted areas.
