ISLAMABAD — The federal government has allocated Rs2,699.339 million for the expansion of the Safe City Islamabad project in its Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2026-27. This funding aims to enhance surveillance, public safety, and smart policing capabilities in the federal capital.

The allocation is part of ongoing efforts to fortify the infrastructure that supports the safety and security operations within Islamabad. The project’s expansion is expected to augment current surveillance mechanisms, making them more effective in combating crime and improving the overall security landscape.

The Safe City project, a crucial initiative for Islamabad, involves the integration of advanced technologies to support law enforcement agencies. The increased financial support underpins the government’s commitment to modernizing public safety resources in response to growing urban challenges.
