National Museum of Uzbekistan Construction Gains Momentum

Tashkent, August 28, 2025, 05:29 PM PKT –

The construction of the National Museum of Uzbekistan, inaugurated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on August 27, 2025, is progressing quickly under the supervision of CSCEC International.

World-Class Design by Global Architects

Renowned architect Tadao Ando and exhibition specialist Atelier Brückner are leading the museum’s design. This project intends to showcase Uzbekistan’s 3,000-year heritage to a global audience. Culture Minister Ozodbek Nazarbekov remarked, “This museum will elevate our cultural legacy globally.”

Extensive Artifact Collection and Exhibition Space

The museum, spanning 4,000 square meters, will feature over 100,000 artifacts. Currently, Tashkent’s 30 museums display only 2,400 artifacts due to space constraints. This new facility will offer a more comprehensive display of Uzbekistan’s cultural treasures to international visitors.

Global Partnerships and Cultural Diplomacy

The National Museum of Uzbekistan is partnering with the Louvre and the British Museum for joint exhibitions in 2026. These international collaborations are crucial for cultural exchange and highlight Uzbekistan’s dedication to global cultural diplomacy.

Features of the Cultural Complex

Located near the National Park within a larger architectural ensemble, the museum includes:

  • Conference halls for academic and cultural events
  • Playgrounds for families and visitors
  • Exhibition spaces for artifact displays

With a goal to attract 500,000 visitors annually, it is set to become a major cultural destination in Central Asia.

Local Artisan Involvement

Local artisans are integral to the museum’s design, ensuring cultural authenticity. A project manager noted, “This is our heritage hub.” Their efforts ensure the museum reflects Uzbekistan’s artistic traditions while adhering to international standards.
