National Museum of Uzbekistan Construction Gains Momentum

Tashkent, August 28, 2025, 05:29 PM PKT –

The construction of the National Museum of Uzbekistan, inaugurated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on August 27, 2025, is advancing rapidly under CSCEC International’s supervision.

World-Class Design by Global Architects

Acclaimed architect Tadao Ando and exhibition specialist Atelier Brückner lead the design. The project aims to present Uzbekistan’s 3,000-year heritage to a global audience. Culture Minister Ozodbek Nazarbekov stated, “This museum will elevate our cultural legacy globally.”

Extensive Artifact Collection and Exhibition Space

The museum, covering 4,000 square meters, will display over 100,000 artifacts. Currently, Tashkent’s 30 museums exhibit only 2,400 artifacts due to limited space. This new facility will allow for a more comprehensive showcase of Uzbekistan’s cultural treasures to international visitors.

Global Partnerships and Cultural Diplomacy

The National Museum of Uzbekistan is collaborating with the Louvre and the British Museum for joint exhibitions in 2026. These international partnerships are key to cultural exchange and underscore Uzbekistan’s commitment to global cultural diplomacy.

Features of the Cultural Complex

Situated near the National Park in a larger architectural ensemble, the museum offers:

  • Conference halls for academic and cultural events
  • Playgrounds for families and visitors
  • Exhibition spaces for artifact displays

With an aim to attract 500,000 visitors annually, it is poised to become a Central Asian cultural destination.

Local Artisan Involvement

Local artisans play a vital role in the museum’s design, ensuring cultural authenticity. A project manager noted, “This is our heritage hub.” Their work ensures the museum maintains Uzbekistan’s artistic traditions while meeting international standards.
