ISLAMABAD — The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue, led by Syed Naveed Qamar, evaluated the Finance Bill 2026, emphasizing the need for a sector-neutral tax policy and reiterating Parliament’s constitutional control over taxation.
The committee engaged in detailed discussions on proposals concerning sales tax exemptions, import regulations, income tax reforms, and digital tax administration. They also scrutinized various concessions tailored to specific sectors.
The evaluation reflects ongoing efforts to streamline tax policy, ensuring it does not disproportionately favor any particular sector, acknowledging the significant role of parliamentary oversight in this process.
