ISLAMABAD — The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a weather alert on Friday, advising of impending thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and flash flooding that could impact several regions over the next 12 to 24 hours. Areas at risk include Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
The NDMA cautioned that northern mountainous areas are particularly susceptible to weather-related hazards from June 13 to 15. Measures to mitigate risks from landslides and glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) should be prioritized.
Authorities urge residents and relevant agencies in vulnerable regions to remain vigilant and ensure readiness to respond to potential emergencies in the coming days.
