LAHORE — Punjab Police deployed over 30,000 officers and personnel to provide security for Muharram processions and gatherings held on the third of Muharram. The extensive security measures were implemented across the province on Friday.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, 148 mourning processions and 3,843 Majalis took place throughout the province, including 10 in Lahore. The deployment aims to ensure the safety of participants and maintain public order during the religious observances.
The police’s strategy involves coordinating with local administrations and other security agencies to monitor sensitive locations and prevent potential disruptions during the Muharram activities.
