Lahore, August 2, 2025 — Pakistan has launched its first AI-powered traffic management system in Lahore. This marks a significant step in modernizing urban infrastructure to tackle traffic congestion and improve road safety.
Features of the AI Traffic System
Collaborating with international AI firms, the system manages traffic flow using real-time data. Key features include:

This system is designed to reduce waiting times, lower fuel consumption, and cut CO₂ emissions across Lahore.
National Expansion Plans
Officials have signaled that Lahore’s AI traffic system is just the beginning. By the end of the year, similar systems will roll out in Karachi, Islamabad, and Faisalabad, progressing towards smart city transformations.
At the launch event, Punjab’s Chief Minister stated, “With AI traffic management, Lahore is making a major leap towards the future of smart cities.”
