Rescue at Sea
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar shared on X that eight fishermen were rescued at sea. They were saved by the British vessel, MMA Valour, after their boat encountered difficulties.
Intervention by US Authorities
The repatriation effort also includes 22 Iranian crew members from the vessel Lenore/Davina, intercepted by US authorities. These efforts are part of a larger plan to facilitate their safe return.
Karachi as a Transit Point
Dar outlined that both groups will soon transit through Karachi, marking a significant step in the repatriation process. This transit is essential for their journey back to Iran.
Commitment to International Cooperation
Pakistan is actively collaborating with Iranian, US, and UK authorities to ensure the safe return of these nationals. Dar emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to humanitarian cooperation and its willingness to provide necessary assistance to its Iranian counterparts.
