ISLAMABAD — The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a severe weather alert as Pakistan braces for significant meteorological disturbances expected in the next 24 hours. Conditions such as thunderstorms, strong winds, and heavy rainfall are predicted to impact various regions nationwide.
Threats of Flooding and Landslides
The NDMA warns of potential risks including urban flooding and glacier-related flood threats, especially in vulnerable mountainous areas. The coming 12 to 24 hours pose an increased risk of flash floods, landslides, and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs).
