Pakistan Braces for Severe Weather, NDMA Issues Alert

ISLAMABAD — The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide alert as Pakistan faces a critical 24-hour weather window. Thunderstorms, strong winds, and heavy rainfall are expected to impact several regions across the country.

The NDMA has warned of potential urban flooding and glacier-related flood risks, particularly in vulnerable mountainous areas. There is an elevated threat of flash floods, landslides, and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) over the next 12 to 24 hours.

The authority urges citizens, especially in high-risk regions, to remain cautious and take necessary precautions as the severe weather approaches.
