ISLAMABAD — Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced on Friday that Pakistan has saved Rs143 billion in power subsidies through implementing structural reforms in the energy sector over the past year. He emphasized that these reforms are crucial for enhancing energy security, affordability, and long-term sustainability.
Aurangzeb outlined that the government had taken significant steps to restructure the existing mechanisms in the energy sector. The changes have not only improved efficiency but have also enabled the country to allocate resources effectively, reducing the financial burden of subsidies.
