Pakistan Shines in Asian Doubles Squash Championships Opener

ISLAMABAD — Pakistan made a strong start in the 3rd Asian Doubles Squash Championships 2026, with both teams securing victories in their opening matches in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Team 1, featuring Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal, defeated Japan’s Naoki Hayashi and Ren Makino 2-0 (11-8, 11-10) in a 25-minute match. Meanwhile, Team 2, consisting of Muhammad Hamza Khan and Muhammad Asim Khan, triumphed over Yu-Wei Lin and Pan Hong Rui from Chinese Taipei with a 2-0 (11-5, 11-3) win in just 14 minutes.

Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal continued their winning streak, defeating Singapore’s Samuel Quek Wei Yi and Justin Yap 2-0 (11-1, 11-8) in 12 minutes, remaining unbeaten in the pool stage. However, Muhammad Hamza Khan and Muhammad Asim Khan lost their second match against Aaron Liang and Jerome Aw Jin Ming of Singapore, 0-2 (8-11, 7-11) in 26 minutes. Both Pakistani teams are set to play their final pool stage matches on Friday.
