PDMA Puts KP Districts on Alert Ahead of Three-Day Storm Spell

PESHAWAR — The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has directed district administrations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to strengthen emergency preparedness. Rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are forecast to hit the province from June 11 to 13.

Emergency Response Measures Activated

The PDMA issued the alert urging local authorities to take immediate action. District administrations have been instructed to activate emergency response mechanisms across the province.

Relief resources are being pre-positioned in vulnerable areas. Coordination with relevant departments has been intensified ahead of the anticipated weather spell.

Provincial Vulnerability to Severe Weather

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s mountainous terrain makes it particularly vulnerable during intense weather events. The region faces significant risks from flash flooding and landslides.

Infrastructure damage is a major concern during periods of intense rainfall and high winds. Authorities are taking preventive measures to minimize potential casualties and property losses.
