PM Invites PPP to Form Government in Gilgit Baltistan

Islamabad, Pakistan — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended an invitation to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to form the new government in Gilgit Baltistan. This follows the PPP’s win as the majority party in recent elections.

Prime Minister’s Statement

Speaking on the matter, Prime Minister Sharif expressed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) support for this government formation. He stated, “PML-N supports PPP on the issue of government formation in Gilgit-Baltistan.”

PML-N’s Opposition Role

The Prime Minister clarified that while PML-N will serve in the opposition within the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, its elected members are committed to voting in favor of the PPP.

Democratic Values and Traditions

The decision, according to Sharif, reflects democratic traditions and values. He emphasized that PML-N has always maintained a respectful relationship with allied parties.
