PM Shehbaz Sharif Forms Task Force for National Industrial Policy

The task force, led by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, aims to address major industrial challenges and promote export-oriented production across Pakistan.

Task Force Focus on Key Areas

The Prime Minister’s Office states that the task force will work with stakeholders to address pressing industrial issues. The National Industrial Policy outlines five priority areas:

The policy sets a goal of a 15% increase in industrial exports by 2027. The federal government will focus particularly on the textile and IT sectors, critical for Pakistan’s economic growth.

This initiative reflects extensive feedback from national chambers of commerce. Business leaders stress the importance of tax reforms and infrastructure improvements for continued industrial expansion.

Urgent Recommendations Expected

Prime Minister Sharif has directed the task force to produce detailed recommendations within 30 days. This swift timeline showcases the government’s commitment to rapid industrial development.
