LAHORE — The Punjab government has introduced a new program that permits adolescents between the ages of 16 and 18 to legally ride motorcycles.
Juvenile Motorcycle Permit Initiative
The juvenile motorcycle permit initiative supports Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of providing more freedoms to the province’s youth. This program aims to empower young individuals, offering them the opportunity to gain independence and mobility earlier.
New Legal Age Requirement
The legal age requirement for obtaining a motorcycle riding license has been reduced from 18 to 16. This change allows younger individuals to acquire licenses, granting them early mobility freedoms previously unavailable.
Broader Youth Empowerment Efforts
This motorcycle permit is part of wider efforts to engage and empower Punjab’s youth. The program encourages responsible driving practices and adherence to traffic laws, enhancing road safety through legal and regulated measures.
