LAHORE — Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has mandated senior provincial officials to oversee the security, medical, and civic preparations for Muharram. On Monday, she instructed commissioners, regional police officers, deputy commissioners, district police officers, and assistant commissioners to actively supervise arrangements to ensure peace and public convenience.
Chief Minister Maryam emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong presence in the field to personally coordinate the implementation of measures across the province. The directives are part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance security and service delivery during the holy month.
The steps are aimed at guaranteeing the safety and comfort of citizens participating in the religious observances. Officials have been tasked with addressing any potential challenges in real-time, underscoring the provincial administration’s commitment to public welfare during Muharram.
