ISLAMABAD — The federal government has allocated Rs 2,403 million to the Ministry of Law and Justice for the fiscal year 2026-27 under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). This budget covers both ongoing and new schemes within the ministry.
Out of the total allocation, Rs 1,380 million has been designated for ongoing projects, including Rs 200 million for the construction of the Federal Courts/Tribunals Complex in Karachi. The Legal Facilitation Center at the Islamabad High Court will receive Rs 228.306 million, while Rs 261.8 million is set aside for the Litigants Facilitation Center for District Courts in Islamabad’s G-10/1 area.
Additionally, the ongoing construction of the Admin Block at the Supreme Court Branch Registry in Quetta has been allocated Rs 226.7 million, and the expansion of the Supreme Court Branch Registry in Karachi will receive Rs 290.5 million. Various other ongoing projects, such as the automation and archiving initiatives within federal courts, have been allocated smaller sums.
For new schemes, Rs 703 million will be used to acquire land for official residences of Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges within the Diplomatic Enclave, with an additional Rs 300 million for the construction of these residences. A feasibility study concerning the IHC judges’ residences will receive funding of Rs 20 million.
