SDPI Calls for Economic Reforms in 2026-27 Budget

ISLAMABAD — Experts from the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) have called on the government to implement structural economic changes, enhance financial inclusion, and carry out comprehensive tax reforms. These recommendations came during a post-budget briefing on the Federal Budget 2026-27, held in Islamabad on Sunday.

The experts emphasized the need for a transformative approach to address longstanding economic challenges. They argued that strengthening financial inclusion would enable broader access to financial services, while tax reforms could improve fiscal stability.

SDPI members highlighted the importance of these measures to ensure sustainable economic growth and development in the country. The session brought together economists, policymakers, and stakeholders to assess the impact of the proposed budgetary allocations.
