SUKKUR — A World Bank Implementation Support Mission visited the Sukkur Barrage Rehabilitation Project on Wednesday to evaluate the progress and address implementation challenges. The team was led by Francois Onimus, Senior Water Resources Management Specialist and Task Team Leader, alongside Zelalem Mekonnen, Water Resource Management Specialist and Co-Task Team Leader.
The visit aimed at reviewing on-ground developments as part of the ongoing efforts to rehabilitate the Sukkur Barrage. The project is crucial for water resources management in the region and is being closely monitored by international bodies.
The mission included meetings with local officials and project stakeholders to discuss key issues affecting the implementation of the project. The World Bank’s involvement highlights the importance of international support in ensuring the successful rehabilitation of vital infrastructure in Pakistan.
