SUKKUR — World Blood Donor Day was commemorated in Sukkur with a ceremony jointly organized by the Regional Blood Centre (RBC) Sukkur on Saturday. The event paid tribute to RBC team members Agha Asfand, Dr. Qadir Muneer, Afzal Waseer, and Umar Ramzan for their significant contributions to the success of the welfare program.
Attending the ceremony as chief guests were Deputy Mayor Sukkur Dr. Arshad Mughal, Commissioner-I Sukkur Naveed Mirani, and Assistant Commissioner Sukkur City Sara Faraz. Additional notable attendees included Dr. Ahmed Mujtaba, Dr. Abdul Aleem Koso, Dr. Shahid Mirani, and Abdul Jabbar Shaikh of the Sukkur Blood Bank. Traditional ajraks were presented to guests, and a cake was cut to commemorate the day.
Speakers at the event emphasized that blood donation is a vital humanitarian service essential for saving lives. They highlighted the importance of promoting voluntary blood donation in society and expressed a commitment to further expanding the welfare mission with RBC Sukkur’s support, along with continued efforts to boost public awareness.
