ISLAMABAD, August 18, 2025 — The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has reported a significant surge in applications for the Government Hajj Scheme 2026. Over 114,500 applications have been submitted, leaving only 3,500 seats available. Prospective pilgrims are urged to apply promptly.
Application Process and Phases
The Ministry’s spokesperson confirmed that applications are being accepted at designated bank branches across Pakistan on a first-come, first-served basis. This year’s strong demand for Hajj visas under the government scheme will likely fill all seats swiftly.
Phase One
The first phase for the Government Hajj Scheme 2026 started on August 4, restricted to registered pilgrims only.
Phase Two
From August 11, the eligibility criteria widened, allowing both registered and unregistered Pakistanis and overseas nationals applying through relatives in Pakistan to submit applications. This expansion drove a swift rise in applications, nearing the total quota almost immediately after the second phase commenced.
