PM Invites PPP to Form Government in Gilgit Baltistan
Islamabad, Pakistan — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to form the new government in Gilgit Baltistan. This follows PPP’s success in becoming the majority party in recent elections. Support from Prime Minister Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s backing for the PPP in the new government. He stated, “PML-N supports PPP on the issue of government formation in Gilgit-Baltistan.” Role of PML-N as Opposition Although PML-N will serve as the opposition in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Prime Minister Sharif assured that its members are committed to supporting PPP’s legislative measures. Emphasizing Democratic Values Sharif highlighted that this move underscores a dedication to democratic values and traditions. He mentioned the PML-N’s strong ties with allied parties, emphasizing a collaborative approach.
