Gilgit’s Aman Faraz Durrani Honored as Youngest “Pride of Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, August 19, 2025 — Aman Faraz Durrani from Gilgit has made history by becoming the youngest woman to receive the prestigious Pride of Pakistan Award. This honor was bestowed during the 78th Independence Day celebrations, known as Marka-e-Haq, recognizing her substantial contributions to social welfare and humanitarian services in Gilgit-Baltistan. Durrani Welfare Trust’s Mission Founded in 2017, the Durrani Welfare Trust was established by Durrani to support orphans and disadvantaged children in Gilgit-Baltistan. The Trust plays a crucial role for vulnerable communities in northern Pakistan. The Trust provides comprehensive support to more than 50 children, which includes: Safe shelter and accommodation Nutritious meals daily Healthcare services Quality education and learning resources Community outreach programs Pandemic Relief Efforts Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trust notably increased its humanitarian outreach. It distributed food rations to over 800 families and clothing to 300 families in the region. Additionally, the Trust provided food supplies to 500 more families and operates a free ambulance service for emergency medical transport. Celebrating Our Stars Children under the Trust’s care, referred to as “Our Stars,” regularly participate in national events such as Independence Day and Pakistan Day celebrations. Their involvement highlights patriotism and a strong community spirit, earning praise from senior government officials. Former Commander FCNA, Major General Kashif Khalil, has been pivotal in providing funding for classrooms and teachers at the Trust. Vision for Expansion Committed to reaching more children across northern Pakistan, Durrani aims to expand the Trust’s facilities. “To enhance our facilities, we seek to build a dining hall and a multipurpose hall for enriching activities. Your support is crucial in continuing to offer quality care and education to our children.” The Trust has organized numerous seminars and motivational sessions with government officials and community leaders over the years, inspiring the youth to support vulnerable communities across Pakistan.
