Maroof International Hospital Marks Independence Day with Solidarity for Palestine
Islamabad, 17 August 2025 — Maroof International Hospital commemorated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day under the theme “Marka-e-Han – united in valor, united in cause.” The celebrations at the hospital in Islamabad highlighted strong solidarity with the Palestinian people. Solidarity with Palestine During the event, Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamadallah Zaid, Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan, praised Pakistan’s steadfast moral, political, and humanitarian support for Palestine. He referred to Pakistan as a “brother in our struggle” and prayed for Pakistan’s continuous prosperity and growth, emphasizing the enduring bond between the two nations. Medical Aid Initiative Maroof International Hospital’s Chairman, Ch. Naseer Ahmed, announced a new partnership with the Palestinian Embassy. This collaboration plans to establish free medical camps and launch a fundraising campaign to aid Palestinians. The hospital is committed to supporting Palestine while celebrating Pakistan’s freedom, focusing on achieving dignity, peace, and justice for Palestine. Unity and Symbolism CEO Sahil Naseer urged attendees to view Pakistan Independence Day as a reminder of their shared responsibilities. He advocated for a future grounded in compassion and courage. Both Pakistani and Palestinian flags were displayed, symbolizing the enduring friendship between the countries. Competitions and Awards The celebrations included an inter-departmental decoration competition that enhanced the festive ambiance. Various departments competed to express their patriotism. The winners included: 1st Place: Radiology Department 2nd Place: Accident & Emergency Department 3rd Place (tie): Rehabilitation, Finance, and Human Resources Departments Ambassador Dr. Zaid and Chairman Ch. Naseer Ahmed awarded certificates and cash prizes during the ceremony in Islamabad.
