MULTAN — The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has dismantled a fake juice production unit in Chak No. 42, Khanewal. The raid led to the seizure of adulterated mango juice, counterfeit packaging, and prohibited ingredients, resulting in the facility’s closure and legal charges against its owner.
Efforts to Combat Food Fraud
The operation was led by Director General Syed Musa Raza as part of ongoing efforts to combat food fraud and ensure public health. The unit was found manufacturing fake juices and beverages using substandard and artificial ingredients disguised as reputable brands.
Seizure Details
During the raid, PFA teams confiscated a significant volume of items:
- 40 liters of faux mango juice
- 10 kilograms of counterfeit packaging material
- Numerous banned substances used in production
These violations of food safety regulations highlight the scale of the operation.
Continuous Protection Measures
Director General Raza stressed the persistent nature of these efforts against counterfeiting and adulteration mafias. He reiterated that safeguarding public health in Pakistan remains a top priority.
