ISLAMABAD — The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has released a significant volume of water, totaling 257,700 cusecs, from various rim stations. The current water inflow stands at 234,900 cusecs under these water management operations.
Water Levels at Major Dams
According to IRSA, the water level at Tarbela Dam on the Indus River has climbed to 1,446.03 feet, exceeding its dead level of 1,402.00 feet by 46.03 feet. Recorded water inflow at Tarbela was 128,500 cusecs, with an outflow of 146,200 cusecs.
The Jhelum River at Mangla Dam shows a water level of 1,172.25 feet, surpassing its dead level of 1,050 feet by 122.25 feet. The inflow at Mangla was 30,100 cusecs, paired with an outflow of 35,000 cusecs.
Water Distribution Across Stations
Water distribution from various stations is as follows:
- Kalabagh: 203,300 cusecs
- Taunsa: 158,100 cusecs
- Guddu: 109,200 cusecs
- Sukkur: 35,200 cusecs
Additionally, the River Kabul at Nowshera saw a release of 49,100 cusecs, and the River Chenab at Marala, 7,000 cusecs.
