Islamabad, 17 August 2025 — The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has initiated a significant flood relief effort in Pakistan. This mission aids families severely impacted by recent floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province severely hit by torrential rains that have displaced thousands.
15,000 Hot Meals for Affected Communities
TIKA is set to distribute 15,000 hot meals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within a week, directly addressing urgent food security needs among displaced populations. This rapid response reflects the coordinated disaster management efforts involving federal authorities and international partners, focusing on the most vulnerable families in the hardest-hit districts.
Initial Distribution of Meals
First 2,000 Meals Delivered
On Sunday, TIKA delivered 2,000 meals in two severely impacted districts:
- 1,000 meals in Buner district
- 1,000 meals in Swat district
Local authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa managed the distribution to ensure assistance reached those in need. The remaining 13,000 meals will be distributed throughout the week in other flood-affected areas.
