ISLAMABAD — The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI)-based weekly inflation registered an increase of 0.16 percent during the week that ended on June 11, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). The SPI for the combined consumption group ascended to 356.11 points from 355.55 in the previous week.
The latest data released by PBS highlights the subtle rise in the cost of essential items, as captured by the SPI. This indicator is crucial for gauging the short-term changes in inflation that directly impact households across Pakistan.
The moderate increase in SPI indicates fluctuations in the prices of commodities and essentials, reflecting the ongoing economic conditions in the country. As inflationary trends continue to affect the market, the PBS monitors these changes to provide insights into consumer price dynamics.
