ISLAMABAD — Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif emphasized the importance of state loyalty as a prerequisite for dialogue, responding to a recent protest by the banned Joint Action Committee in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). Asif stated that meaningful dialogue requires participants to demonstrate loyalty to the state and adhere to its laws and authorities.
The protest by the Joint Action Committee, which has been banned, prompted a strong reaction from the minister. He underscored that compliance with state authority is essential for any progress in negotiations.
Asif’s remarks highlight the government’s stance on internal dissent and its approach to managing protests through lawful means and state allegiance.
