KARACHI — Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi emphasized the urgent need for environmental protection, identifying it as one of the most critical issues of our time. He shared these views during a ceremony at Governor House celebrating World Environment Day.
Pakistan’s Climate Challenges
Governor Hashmi noted that Pakistan is one of the countries most affected by climate change. He stressed the necessity of adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle to effectively combat these challenges. The Governor highlighted the significant role of collective awareness and practical steps in reducing the impacts of climate change. According to him, embracing environmentally conscious habits is essential.
Call for Action
Governor Hashmi called for coordinated efforts to address the excessive use of plastic, wasteful water consumption, and deforestation. Key actions he outlined include:

- Conserving water
- Preventing deforestation
Tree Plantation as a Commitment
He stated that tree planting is not just a campaign but a commitment to securing a better future for upcoming generations. Governor House plans to back initiatives aimed at reducing environmental pollution and promoting a greener Sindh.
Public Responsibility
Governor Hashmi urged citizens to plant at least one tree each, highlighting that maintaining a clean, green, and safe environment is a shared responsibility for all.
