FAISALABAD — Emergency crime calls in Faisalabad fell sharply during the first week of June 2026 compared to the same period last year. Police attributed the decline to intelligence-based operations, enhanced patrolling and wider use of surveillance technology.
Crime Call Statistics Show Major Decline
A police spokesman said total helpline calls dropped from 710 in the first week of June 2025 to 307 over the same period this year. This represents a decrease of 403 calls, or approximately 57 percent.
On a single day during that week, the Rescue Helpline received 46 calls. This compared to 80 calls reported on the corresponding day last year.
Police Credit Multi-Pronged Strategy
The spokesman credited the improvement to several factors:
- Targeted crackdowns against habitual offenders
- Prompt emergency response protocols
- Strict action against those making false distress calls
- Improved efficiency of the emergency response system
Intelligence-Led Operations Continue
Continuous intelligence-led operations and indiscriminate action against proclaimed offenders and anti-social elements across the district played a central role in curbing criminal activity. The spokesman emphasized these operations targeted individuals across all areas without discrimination.
Police said the campaign would continue with greater intensity to further consolidate public safety gains in Faisalabad.
