Human Rights Ministry Launches Task Force
On August 29, 2025, the Ministry of Human Rights announced a special task force to investigate the gang rape incident in Gujrat. Federal Minister Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar strongly condemned the crime.
The task force aims to:

A senior ministry official heads the task force, closely coordinating with the Punjab Police. Two suspects were arrested on August 28, and the task force plans to review all evidence within 10 days.
Support Fund for Victims
The Ministry has allocated Rs. 2 million for victim support and legal assistance. This fund ensures the survivor receives essential services, including:
- Medical treatment and healthcare services
- Psychological counseling and trauma support
- Legal representation in court proceedings
Furthermore, the ministry will initiate awareness campaigns on women’s safety throughout Punjab province. These campaigns aim to prevent similar incidents and educate communities about gender-based violence.
Civil Society Pushes for Legal Reforms
Local activists in Gujrat praised the federal government’s swift response but demand stricter laws and faster prosecution for sexual violence cases.
