HSATI Criticizes Budget for Overlooking Site Area Rehabilitation

HYDERABAD — The Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry (HSATI) has expressed concerns over the federal budget 2026-27, stating that it lacks provisions for the rehabilitation of SITE areas. While recognizing the introduction of tariff and tax reforms, as well as limited digitalization measures, HSATI believes these steps are only partially positive for the industrial and commercial sectors.

HSATI officials have emphasized the necessity for a comprehensive strategy to address the long-standing issues faced by SITE areas, which are crucial for supporting industrial growth and employment. The absence of specific allocations for site restoration in the budget has been a significant point of contention for stakeholders who anticipated more integrated development plans.

The government’s focus on economic reform through taxation and digitalization is welcomed but falls short of addressing the infrastructural needs and rehabilitation required by these industrial zones. Stakeholders urge the government to revisit and include targeted measures for SITE area development in the budget.
