HSATI Criticizes Budget for Overlooking Site Area Rehabilitation

HYDERABAD — The Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry (HSATI) has voiced its concerns about the federal budget 2026-27. A key issue is the lack of provisions for SITE area rehabilitation. While the budget includes some tariff and tax reforms, as well as limited digitalization measures, HSATI believes these offer only partial benefits to the industrial and commercial sectors.

Need for Comprehensive Strategies

HSATI officials stress the importance of developing a comprehensive strategy to address longstanding issues in SITE areas. These zones significantly contribute to industrial growth and employment opportunities. Stakeholders are dissatisfied with the absence of specific allocations for site restoration and had expected more integrated development plans.

Shortcomings in Economic Reforms

Despite the government’s emphasis on economic reform through taxation and digitalization, there is a shortfall in meeting the infrastructural needs of these industrial zones. Stakeholders urge the government to reconsider the budget and incorporate targeted measures for SITE area development.
