PFA Discards 550 Litres of Adulterated Milk in Multan Operation

MULTAN, August 17, 2025 — The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted a significant food safety operation in Multan, seizing and discarding 550 litres of adulterated milk.

Seizure Details and Factory Closure

During the operation, the PFA recovered 40 kilograms of whey powder from an unlicensed milk production unit near Barah Meel, Khanewal. Following this discovery, officials promptly sealed the factory.

An FIR was filed against the factory owners for operating without a license and producing substandard dairy products.

PFA Cracks Down on Contaminated Poultry

Simultaneously, PFA teams acted at Sutlej Toll Plaza in Lodhran. They seized sick poultry deemed unfit for consumption, disposing of it on-site.

The supplier was fined Rs 40,000 for violating food safety standards, delivering a stern warning to others who might risk public health.

Health Risks of Milk Adulteration

The use of whey powder to simulate milk presents severe public health risks. It leads to nutritional deficiencies and serious health issues for consumers.

DG Asim Javed announced that strict legal actions will target these unlawful operations as the authority intensifies monitoring of dairy and food units across Punjab.

Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious food products by calling the PFA helpline at 1223. Public cooperation is vital in assisting enforcement teams to stop illegal activities threatening community health.
