NLPD Independence Day 2025 celebrations
ISLAMABAD, Aug 14 (APP): The National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a vibrant flag-hoisting ceremony and a seminar titled ‘Azadi se Operation Marka-e-Haq tak’ at its headquarters in Islamabad. Flag-Hoisting and Opening Ceremony The event began at 8:00 a.m. with Director General Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar and Chief Guest Major General (Retired) Dr. Muhammad Samrez Salik, HI (M), jointly raising the national flag. The ceremony started with a Quran recitation, followed by prayers for the nation’s peace, prosperity, and security. Major General (Retired) Dr. Samrez Salik commended the bravery of the armed forces and citizens, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to unity in overcoming challenges. Honoring Founders and Heroes Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar described August 14 as a symbol of sacrifice, unity, and perseverance. He highlighted the contributions of forefathers like Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, reaffirming NLPD’s commitment to national prosperity and cultural promotion through language initiatives. Cultural Performances The celebration included performances by students Anmol Fatima and Musqura Fatima, whose patriotic songs celebrated national pride and cultural heritage. The event concluded with the presentation of NLPD publications to the chief guest, underscoring the department’s role in promoting national languages and cultural identity.
