ISLAMABAD, August 17, 2025 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has mandated the immediate deployment of relief supplies to flood-hit regions, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, enhancing Pakistan’s relief operations through improved federal coordination.
Federal Government Mobilization
The Prime Minister’s Relief Package facilitates the distribution of vital goods such as food rations, tents, and medicines to districts severely affected by the floods. Key federal ministers are ensuring effective on-ground coordination:
- Engineer Amir Muqam, responsible for Kashmir & GB Affairs, supervises efforts in Shangla and Buner.
- The Federal Minister for Power directs operations in Buner.
- Sardar Yousaf of Religious Affairs manages efforts in Mansehra.
- Special Assistant Mubarak Zeb steers initiatives in Bajaur.
NDMA Coordination Efforts
In coordination with disaster management teams across KP, Gilgit-Baltistan, and AJK, the NDMA Chairman is ensuring harmonized operations. The relief efforts include collaboration with the Pakistan Army, district administrations, and NGOs, enhancing the federal government’s nationwide rescue activities.
