Islamabad Private Schools Enroll 4,000 Out-of-School Children

ISLAMABAD — The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has successfully enrolled over 4,000 out-of-school children in private schools across Islamabad under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. This effort is part of the ‘No Child Left Behind’ campaign, aimed at educational inclusion.

During a progress review meeting at the PEIRA Headquarters, chaired by Chairman PEIRA Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, it was revealed that a comprehensive survey covered approximately 80,000 households in rural Union Councils of Islamabad. The survey identified more than 24,000 children aged 5 to 16 years who were not attending school. These children were referred to the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and PEIRA for school placement.

Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah praised the private schools for their active participation in this national mission, enrolling over 4,000 children at no cost. He highlighted the important role of private schools in addressing the educational disparities and emphasized that this cooperation demonstrates a strong commitment to social responsibility and educational equity. Additionally, the meeting underscored the importance of providing enrolled children with free textbooks and learning materials to aid their continued education.

The initiative was supported by key campaign partners, such as the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), Basic Education Community Schools (BECS), National Education Foundation (NEF), FDE, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and various international NGOs. These organizations have worked collaboratively to ensure universal access to education as per the government’s educational directives.
